Braille is a tactile writing system that is used by the blind and the visually impaired. It is usually written on embossed paper. It is named after the creator, Louis Braille. He developed his code for the French alphabet as an improvement on night writing. He then published this system. His second revision was published in 1837, this was the first digital (binary) form of writing.
Braille characters are small rectangular blocks called cells that contain raised dots. The arrangement of the dots distinguishes one character from another.

From the starting point of ones and zeroes i went on to look at different ways of how text can be encoded and viewed. From looking at binary codes, Morse code and Braille, i found binary codes the most interesting as i was amused at how our computers read letters through only ones and zeroes.
In my essay I talked mainly about hypertext and hypermedia, to relate this project to my essay I looked at Net Art which is usually made up of many hyperlinks within the text and media.
